Piya means a loved one, chayen means wife. Thus, Piyachayen means a beloved wife. In the picture, a king and the queen were holding each other with love. Their deeply love is completely shown through the curved eves and eyebrows of the lovers. This picture was painted by the Lanna artist in the north of Thailand who had unique painting style.
