According to Professor Silp Peerasri, quoted partly from the printed program of the 9th National Art Exhibition,
"Art is like religion. It upgrades human being' minds, and refines their spirits and hearts with its sentimental work." Therefore, art is vital for us. It can be compared to the breath of civilized people.

Number 1 Gallery presents the exhibition 'Noble Individual - Satu' by Alongkorn Lauwatthana

Opening of the exhibition on Thursday 23rd April 2009 at 6.30 pm.
at Number 1 Gallery, B1 Floor, The Silom Galleria, Silom Rd., Bangkok.

The conceive of self, sex, class, status, image or physical appearance are apparent to visual perception; yet, the lucidity becomes obscured and unclear; the reality is distorted and finally decays… In the mean time, there is something co-conceived; the act of virtue freed from the frame of appearance becomes the true demonstration of the core essence of a ‘civilized individual’, truthfully and inarguably.

This particular series of works by Alongkorn Lauwatthana is the latest interpretation of the artist’s own experience, expressing the reality of the absolute truth without any attachment to the superficiality of physical appearances; the same way his works resolve, develop and progress.

The exhibition will be held from April 23rd - May 24th, 2009.
Gallery opening hours are 10.00 -19.00 on Mondays - Saturdays and 11.00-18.00 on Sundays.

Number 1 Gallery presents the exhibition 'Descend from Heaven' by Watchara Klakhakhai

Opening of the exhibition on Thursday 5th March 2009 at 6.30 pm. at Number 1 Gallery, B1 Floor, The Silom Galleria, Silom Rd., Bangkok.

Beauty is one of the aesthetics we can perceive and sense all around us, though means or definitions of measuring beauty might vary from different or unique conditions or characters, but one universally acknowledged form of beauty is the beauty of a woman.

After Watchara Klakhakhai had amazed us with his prodigious talents shown in portraits in the "Artists in My Heart" exhibition held last year (2007), this time Watchara is back with his idea "woman is the most beautiful thing in the world" by displaying beauties of woman expressed through motions, emotions, postures, looks, body parts, forms, atmospheres, etc. with precision and delicate features which are fundamentals of his portraits and works.

The Gallery invites you to the opening of the exhibition,
"The Way of Rivers"
by Thanongsak Pakwan

Ways of life, livelihood, life sustainability, occupations, moral code, beliefs, myths, folklores teaching cultural doctrines and traditions, the pure nature, fertility of the Lanna land, all of which might have passed our eyes expressed through concrete or abstract ideas in art by northern artists.
Thanongsak Pakwan is the artist who chooses to pick up things from around him, rooted imprints since childhood and turn them into paintings on canvas. But exceptionally, his works rather expresses joyful motions, cheerfulness and liveliness based on Thai art.
