Lesson 2 " Making Edgings on The Design " |
![]() |
|||||
When you make a lot of practice in drawing Krajang Ta Oil Design until you can draw it skilfully, the next lesson is to make edgings on the design. Making edgings on some parts of the design make it look more outstanding and beautiful. Moreover, the design will look more natural. There are 2 types of edge making namely; edging in and edging out. The appropriateness in choosing either kind depends on the area to be decorated. |

1. Edging in the design Instruction: Draw the line from the top of the design until it reaches the middle of the design. Then pull the line in a little bit and pull the line out. The line should not be too curved or too straight. Do the same on both sides as shown in the example. |

2. Edging out the design Instruction: Begin like the first type. However, when the line reaches the middle of the design, draw the line out. You can note that both tips are pointed like the petals of a flower. |

Remarks 1. The similar problem the beginners usually face is that they draw Mae Krajang Design and make edgings at the same time - - taking no account of the original design. As a result, the design will be distorted and incorrect. Do remember that if you are not yet experienced, you should make an outline of the design (as explained in lesson 1) with the thin line. Then draw the design along the said outline and make edgings as the design subsequently. |
