![]() |
|||||
Kranok Design is the most important traditional Thai design drawing. If you do not practice drawing this design until you become very skilful, you will not be able to draw other Thai designs in higher levels. In this lesson, you will learn how to draw the Kranok Design (Single). You will learn to draw it from either side. The shape of Kranok Design originated from the right-angled triangle. The upper side of the design will be a little bit exceeded the triangle in order that it will look more delicate and movable. It can be drawn exactly within the outline but it will be less graceful and lively. |

It can help divide Kranok Design in order to make some edgings on the design, draw a spiral or to whip a line on the top of the design to become the Kranok Hang Lai Design. 4. When you are able to draw Kranok Design from the right hand side, you should learn to draw it from the left (reverse side) as well. If you would like to be a professional artist, you must to able to draw this design from both sides. The methods of drawing are the same as those of the one draw from the right. |

Remarks 1. The curved line should exceed the outline appropriately. You can notice from the sample design. 2. The lesson absolutely focuses on drawing the curved lines. If you are not very experienced, you practice drawing it until you can draw it well. This is because a good Kranok Design should not consist of too many outlines. If you can draw it with only one line at one time, it shows that you are successful in drawing this kind of design. However, skill results from hard practice. 3. I suggest that you draw over 100 Kranok Designs, both from the right and left. (Don't be surprised!) Drawing traditional Thai designs require skills which result from practice. Further more, you should be an observant person. You should be observant about the nature, sentimental emotions and gentle feeling caused by perceiving any kind of beauty. These are the special characteristics of all artists. |
