Lesson 8 " Drawing Kranok Plail Design "

After we attach Hang Lai Design with the Kranok Design, it is called "Kranok Plail" because its shape is like the flame which looks winding and movable ("plail" means a flame). The shape of Kranok Plail contains the outline of Hang Lai Design. But if you draw it without the outline of Hang Lai, the drawing you get will be stiff. All skilled Thai artists usually used to practice drawing this design a great deal. The core of Thai art is the patience, observation and practice.

Instructions in drawing Kranok Pail Design

1. Draw a right-angled triangle, the size and the division of area is the same as that indicated in Lesson 5 and 6.

2. Draw a curved line in the additional leaf (Kranok Plail will be extended from this part) in the small triangle on the left.

3. Draw a curved line from the additional leaf and draw it until it reaches the middle of the main triangle and whip the line to make it curl like the flame. Then pull the line downward. Please note that the line will be winding like the movement of the snake. The line will be drawn to end up at the additional leaf.

    4. Draw a line in the middle of the base of the triangle. The line must be winding along the shape of the design.

5. Draw Kranok Plail Design from the reverse side, using the same instructions as the one drawn from the right (see item 1 - 4).

Remarks
1.
Please note that Kranok Plail Design contains the outline of Hang Lai in it. If you are able to draw Hang Lai Design skillfully, you will know instantly that you can whip the line at the top of the design just a little bit. Then you can draw Kranok Plail Design.
2. The detailed design of the additional leaf can be drawn before or after drawing Kranok Design.
3. I always emphasize that you should draw more than 100 design - - don't complain and don't be lazy. When there is a will, there is a way.
